How to watermark many photos at once on iPhone

· Avinash Kumar

Batchly runs on iPhone and iPad. The app interface is in English.

Photographers watermark proofs before clients pay. Sellers stamp their shop name on listing photos. Doing it one photo at a time in a markup tool takes forever.

Batch watermarking in Batchly

  1. Select the photos.
  2. Add a Watermark step: a logo image or text (your name, shop URL, © 2026).
  3. Set position, size and opacity.
  4. Add Resize or Compress steps if you need them. Steps run in the order you set.
  5. Export.

Save the chain as a workflow (“Etsy + logo”) and reuse it next time (Pro).

Where to put it

  • Corner, small, 40–60% opacity: a credit, not a barrier. Good for social posts.
  • Center or across the subject: hard to crop out, but it spoils the photo. Use it for proofs only.
  • Keep it away from the very edge. Instagram’s grid crops the sides of 4:5 posts slightly.

What a watermark won’t do

An Etsy seller put it bluntly: “any photo editing software can remove the watermarks with a click or two”. Others reply that it still makes thieves work for it. Both are right. A watermark is a deterrent and a signature.

Marketplaces have rules too. eBay asks for images without added text or borders in its photo guidelines, so check before you stamp listing photos.

Metadata

Batchly keeps EXIF, copyright and IPTC data on export. If you’ve set a copyright field in your camera, it stays attached.

Questions people ask

Can a watermark be removed?
Yes, with enough effort. Sellers on Etsy forums point out that editing software can remove a corner logo. A watermark discourages casual copying and keeps your name attached.
Text or logo?
Either. A PNG logo with a transparent background looks cleanest. Text works if you don't have one.
