Adding up figures from a bank statement, invoice or spreadsheet without switching apps
· Avinash Kumar
Voice Calculator runs on iPhone. The app is available in English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.
Bookkeeping often means this: a statement in one app, a calculator in another, and a lot of switching back and forth. Every switch is a chance to lose your place or retype a number wrong.
Keep the calculator running in the background
- Open Voice Calculator and tap the mic.
- Switch to your bank app, a PDF invoice, an email or a spreadsheet.
- Read the numbers out as you scroll: “45 plus 120 plus 18”.
- The Dynamic Island and Lock Screen show what you just said and the running total.
- Tap Stop or Clear right from there when you’re done.
The app doesn’t read the other app. It only hears you. So it works with anything you can see on screen, including a photo of a paper receipt.
Where people use it
- Totalling one category of spending on a statement.
- Checking an invoice’s line items against its total.
- Stock counts in a warehouse or shop.
- Tallying daily takings.
Used this so much
As someone who uses the calculator app every 5 seconds, I have found this app such a time saver!

Because you read the numbers aloud, think about where you are. In an office or a café, headphones with a mic help.
Keep a record
When you’re done, export the tape as CSV or text. See calculator history and export.
Questions people ask
- Does the app read my bank app?
- No. It only listens to what you say. You read the numbers aloud, and the app adds them.
- How long does it keep listening?
- Until you tap Stop, or after five minutes of silence.
Voice Calculator
A calculator you talk to: say the numbers, check each one on the tape, hear the total.
